CANTERBURY SNOW SALE 2024

GENERAL INFORMATION

The 2024 Annual Canterbury Snow Sale is brought to you by Canterbury University Snow Sports Club for the eleventh time, following the hugely successful previous Snow Sales. The Snow Sale will be held from 9AM to 3PM on the 5th of May (Sunday). Gear drop off is 10AM to 3PM 4th of May (Saturday), see seller information for more details.

The snow sale allows anyone to bring in and sell their second-hand snow gear alongside gear from retail outlets. There will also be vendors present from the Canterbury Snow Sports Community, including ski clubs, retailers of hard and soft goods, and many more. We will have thousands of items of brand new and used gear for sale, so come along and take a look!

The snow sale is perfect for beginner skiers and snowboarders, families with children, students or travellers as there will be a huge range of cheap gear up for grabs!

SELLER INFORMATION (GEAR DROP OFF)

We will be checking in gear from 10am – 3pm on Saturday 4th May at Haere-roa (UCSA Building), 90 Ilam Road).

Your gear will be checked in with your contact details, pricing and gear information using our new and improved automated system.

Please remember, due to limited space, we cannot take all gear brought in. There are rules in place to ensure that we only take in gear that is not too old and in good condition. Some examples of gear we will not accept are:

  • Straight skis

  • Protective gear  with impact damage

  • Rear entry boots (excluding children’s boots)

  • Obviously broken gear

  • Outdated touring bindings, e.g. Fritschi FT88, Silvretta SL, Petzl Sk’alp, etc.

  • Alpine Bindings no longer indemnified by their manufacturer

  • Analog avalanche transceivers

  • Used helmets

The CUSSC reserves the right to refuse any gear deemed unsuitable for sale.

Also please consider the pricing of items before drop-off, so as to assist with faster and smoother check-in. Remember, gear that is reasonably priced is most likely to sell. We will have experts on hand to assist you if you are unsure of the suitability or value of your gear.

Commission rate for public gear

20% of the final price.

Gear pick up: 

Any unsold gear will be available to pick up, from 4pm – 5pm on Sunday 5th May at the end of the sale. Sellers will be required to find their own leftover gear and check out at the counter. Please bring your receipt when collecting gear.
Uncollected gear will be dealt with as per the sellers terms and conditions.
